American actor and musician Awkwafina made her debut with humorous hip-hop tracks that addressed sexual identity and race with a the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was through the instrument of trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop education began when she was in her teens.
